Our Story
Established in 2003, Colter Coffee put down roots in the small mountain town of Kalispell, MT. It was here, surrounded by beautiful scenery and a welcoming community, that our spirit for discovery, commitment to quality and relentless pursuit of perfection developed into what is now recognized as one of the top specialty coffee roasters in the region.

Our passion lies in how we source and roast coffee. Colter coffees are diligently sampled, roasted, tested, analyzed and explored with a devotion to bring out the best in every bean. It is our mission to push the boundaries of excellence to create a coffee experience that is truly unique and sophisticated. Our relationship with coffee is personal and we believe that can be tasted in every cup.

Folklore
Colter Coffee was named after the legendary mountain man, John Colter, who is best remembered for his exploration of the uncharted American West.
Colter was a fearless trailblazer whose tales of fortitude include epic journeys with Lewis and Clark, brutal tests of unforgiving wilderness, and improbable escapes from Native American warriors. Colter cemented his status as a historical icon when he became the first known person of European descent to enter the region which is now Yellowstone National Park.
